My Genuine copy of windows xp has said for about the 4th time that due to a recent hardware change i must reactivate within 3 days.
Fair enough, so i go to activate it and its now saying i have used my key too often and i need a new one!
What the? I didn`t get this crap when i was using stolen versions!
How inconvenient
does anyone know how i can fix this.?
I feel like just putting another stolen and hacked version back in

just use a hacked verison, a lot of my programs are cracked

Hold with me as am going from memory, and as it Sunday that not to hot.

You need to try and activate via online, once failed select the Telephone option and it should generate an ID number that you need. Call the number and follow the prompts between the musak being played.

If this fails you should be put through to a human (loosely anyway) They should ask you about the reason you need reactivation. Make something up... ie hard drive died and needed replacement with closest match, that sort of thing.

Depends what hardware you changed and the type of licence you have eg OEM.

If it is OEM, the licence lives and dies with the computer, and changing certain hardware makes the licence invalid.

Ring up microsoft and see what they say.
