There are a few of us on these forums with the Fuji s6500fd
that are experiencing horrible playback sync issues with
Windows Media player and Movie maker editing.

So ive put a Tech e-mail out to Fuji Support to see what they say,
i've mentioned that there is about 4 of us with the same problems.

They asked me to install some ulead codec's which screwed
up media player completely where the screen would lock
but the sound continued, and after a system restore to get
media player working again.

Its only with Movies from my camera as .avi files
that i'm having the issue with.

I got my second e-mail this morning asking what versions
of movie maker and xp i'm using.

They asked me to try the movie in Quick Time and it plays
perfectly, but as i put to them, how will my long lost
uncle now living in New zealand know how to use quick time
as pc's are built with media player as the default player.

Are you having the same issues with Movie Maker and Media Player?
You input could help resolve this.

If it plays ok in quicktime, then its most likely to be the codecs its using to play them in Movie Maker and Media Player.

My sync problems occur when I use an MP3, but not always, probably with 50% of my MP3's. Im not sure why, but when it happens to a track, I just re-encode it to WMA and it works fine.

So I don't think my problems lie with the AVI, rather the WMM software and/or the MP3's I am using (they all say they are using LAME but I rekon some are probably encoded using Fraunhofer IIS and similar).

Personally, I rekon its just Windows Movie Maker being Windows Movie Maker lol.

Yeh its a avi issue i think.

Once rendered in movie maker its fine, as a wma.

Will keep you posted.
