The government's proposed review of funding for public service broadcasting will also now be brought forward so that it begins immediately after Ofcom has completed its review of the provision of public service broadcasting.

Jowell, who announced the move to the Royal Television Society yesterday, said: "Despite the profound changes ahead for the television sector in the coming years, I remain convinced that the case for public service broadcasting will endure."

I dunno why they dont just let the channel fight its own battles, its nobody elses fault (especially the UK public) that this channel puts on so much shite nowadays that advertisers dont wanna know.

There was a time when Channel 4 was becoming the best PSB channel in the UK, but now its just about the worst.

Id rather watch BBC2 or Channel 5 then channel 4 (having said that though, BBC2 is becoming as good as BBC1 and ITV1 in the last couple of years).
