Sky and Sony Pictures have done a deal for the television and online rights to films including Spider-Man 3 and The Da Vinci Code.

This extends an existing rights agreement with Sony Pictures Television International, which will include the exclusive premiere of films on Sky Movies and further access on Sky's download service, Sky Anytime.

Sophie Turner-Laing, managing director for entertainment at Sky, said: "This is a further demonstration of Sky Movies' commitment to connect customers with the widest choice of films, HD and on-demand services through the TV and PC."

Quality stuff, its good to see that Sky are trying even harder to improve their movie content, and even better to see that they are really starting to invest more into their Anytime On Demand service.

The movies have been a bit lacking in recent months (partly due to the studios churning out shit movie after shit movie), and they really do need new and exclusive contracts to help bring it back up to standard.
