As part of her round Britain Cruise, the QE2 visited Liverpool in September 1995. Because of her size, she had to moor mid-river and the Mersey Ferries acted as tenders.

As I have only recently discovered the camcorder tape and transferred it to a digital format, I thought I would share it with WikiWirral members via YouTube.

Unfortunately, I've lost some of the quality of the original in the process as it was on Hi-8, which is about 750 lines, even then.

Nice video, Norton. The older ships were so much more graceful than the modern ones, which now look like floating factories and must be very impersonal.

Liverpool skyline also had a special charm before all the new buildings were thrown up around the beautiful architecture of the three graces.

Once Peel have finished on both sides of the river, neither side will be recognisable.
