Read page 23 of Noel E Smith's book "Sandstone & Mortar" It was built for Thomas Orton Goodwin whos father was the founder of Seacombe Pottery.
There is mention of Richmond Villa in this months History of Wallasey's update -

Yes, at the moment theres a skip outside,looks like its going to be flats, at least its going to be functional,I didnt know it goes back to 1840,amazing!
I had a look inside yesterday 17-7-12 but only on the ground floor. The builders are doing a serious rip-out job & are going to restore the place to it's former glory. There is a family of 2 going to live there --- not flats!
