Hello everyone, I'm new to Forums so any advice would be helpful.

Can anyone tell me what was on the land on Delamere Ave, Mill Park, before the flats and houses were built there in the 1960's. I'm interested in the area of Delamere Ave where there is a field, and a footpath leading to the skate board park and Eastham Rake.
Many thanks.

this I think would be better moved to the history section

It used to be a small wood, with ponds. This is in the 19th century though.

Here's a map from somewhere between 1951-76

Thanks for that. It's interesting that the pond on the right is where the field is now. Explains why they didn't build on it and why it floods when it rains. It doesn't show any buildings on Delamere Ave by the field, which were built in about 1964, so may need to go back further. Latest thinking is that the remains of the structure where I found blue and white tiles, could have been an outside toilet. Possibly to old farm buildings.
