Has anyone any photo's or information on this address please? Was it purely residential or was it a flat above a shop? My mum lived there in 1933. I am trying to piece together her past.
Thanks

In 1916 Wilmers directory, 351 was a laundry, George Stalker, he also had a laundry at 1 Mount Rd. Probably had a flat above in 1933.

In the 1938 Kelly Directory, it was occupied by Alex Winterburn, a tailor.

I think there has been a mis-understanding here. The first address list relates to NEW Chester Rd
( Seafield House & Star Hotel etc ) Second list refers to OLD Chester Rd. Can someone clarify
which one is the subject of the enquiry ?

In the 1923 Kelly Directory 351 Old Chester Road was occupied by Joseph Wright.

The gap between 353 and 393 could be Byrne Avenue Baths.
So 351 may have been one of the shops on the corner where Bedford Road meets Old Chester Road - think there's flats there now

As a matter of (marginal) interest, James Fryer, butcher, at Seafield House, New Chester Rd. was my great grandfather.

In their present form, both Byrne Av and Green Lawn are both 'U' shaped, so both begin and end on Old Chester Road, so giving four junctions for only two roads. On the above list, Byrne Av doesn't show, and we only have one end of Green Lawn. At a guess, I'd say those houses were built after 1923 when Kellys list was made.
I do know that on the south east corner, in a 1930's style low building, there was a chemist and next to it was the Surgery of Doctors Redwood and Baker. That/those building were boarded up for a while then demolished 20 or more years ago and the flats went up.
Might be able to get the address from an old phone book...

349 Old Chester Rd. was the Surgery of Dr. H.C.W. Baker. according to the 1960 Phone Directory. I can't remember what was to the right of it - I only have a mental picture of trees before the baths.

351 Old Chester Rd was a Drs surgery at one time too. I lived there 20 something years ago and it had not long been converted back into residential then. It was next door to the shop, to the left as you're facing it.
Thank you all for taking the time to help. If anyone else can shed any light on this I would appreciate it.
Thanks

Here's the area in about 1984. The row was knocked down in around 2000.
