Just remembered seeing a show by the legendary Gene at a rugby club(?)in either of the above locations - he was, of course, great to watch but it's a vague memory, probably early '70s.

Anyone remember this event? When was it? Any details/recollections?

Thanks for the link to website - I don't see any reference there to the Irby/Greasby date in either 1971 (the most likely tour, I reckon)or in 1970 dates, so my query still stands, as to "when", please?!

[I've just finished a related book, Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran, rock'n'roll revolutionaries by John Collis - surpisingly informative, regarding both individuals, but noting Gene's deteriorating health into his final performances. Sad, really but he was indeed on form when(ever!) I saw him - I mainly recall a piercing stare, noticeable as this was a oerformance at close quarters, in a small venue]
