I live in Portugal and have just started looking into my family history. The family were called Kirkby and lived in Birkenhead before moving to Garston, then Salford and then back to Garston and Birkenhead between 1861 and 1891. They lived in Nelson Street, Napier Street and Brassey Street. Does anybody know anything about these streets or the Kirkby family? Ruth

Brassey St is in the North End of Birkenhead by Birkenhead Park .
Nelson St is by Birkenhead Central Central station see map It is no longer there.
Could not find Napier St on Map but a Napier Rd.

Have a look on above site some marriages and deaths for the name Kirkby.

Napier Street was a side street containing just 15 tiny terraced houses off Cathcart Street, long since demolished.
