i bought an old stone jar a couple of years ago. it had best barm beer of ye olden time,j.lyon and co,birkenhead.printed on it. bourne denby is engraved in a circle underneath the name. also it had otto,trade name printed on it. does anyone have any information on it plaese.

Those bottles made by the Bourne Denby pottery are also available with the name Liverpool on them, it appears they bare the name of the place they were sold rather than where the ginger bear was made and bottled (could be wrong). J lyon apparently started life in the Midlands and after many years were taken over by Allied breweries and are now under the control of Ind Cooper.
