Can anyone advise... Does anyone know of any good sites which have maps of streets and residents from when the houses were first built. Tithe maps online (?) I will go into the Records Office in Birkenhead sometime but wonder if there was anything on the internet.

It works. The tithe map indicates what is under the foundations. Thanks EllyMay.
I wonder, now, who used to live in this house when 1st built. May need to go into Records Office for this. Perhaps there may be some census online - I will check.

Gloria - you can try Wallasey Referrnce Library who have Gore Directories as well as Electroral Lists.

There is a website that has 1900 listings for the area

Historical Directories

Naming the street your house is in may help someone on wikiwirral get you a list of the residents living in the various houses in either a street directory or possibly a census (1881 is good for finding the neighbours of someone if you have a name for a person who lived in that street)
Any idea when it was built

Yippee, found name of someone living in the house from Gore's Directory 1900. Thanks guys. I'll visit library for electoral list now - perhaps going further back in time. The house was built in 18??.
