im trying to find information regarding this lifesaving medal that was awarded to my grandad. I have no information whatsoever on why he got it. I dont know if it was awarded for saving a life or for passing an examination. Any info anyone ?

Don't suppose there is a certificate to go with it?????
Our kid got a cert from the Humane and Shipwreck Society when he did his heroic bit.

That's a "Bronze Medallion" awarded for passing a lifesaving exam. The RLSS also did a silver medallion (award of merit) and a gold medallion (distninction award)
