Who remembers the lady who sold the Liverpool Echo from a doorway in the top half of Victoria Road? She used to drink tea out of a milk bottle. What happened to her? I can't recall seing her after the late 60s.

Can't remember a lady but there was a man called Eddie who sat outside the Railway pub for years. Last city echo was his call. He worked for Harry Martin who had a place in the cellar corner of Waterloo road and Victoria road. Still there now. The cellar that is.

Yeh I remember him. She was around about the same time and may well have been selling for him on days off. She had an earthy sorty of face with a tanned complexion and always had a headscarf tied tightly around her head.
