Is there anyone alive who genuinely believes England actually have a chance of winning this world cup?

I'll comment on that after the match raftl I have hope that we can go all the way - be rude not to.
If they exclusively selected players from non-premiership clubs, they would have a better chance. All the A-list "stars" only seem to play for themselves, for their own fame and fortune, and have little interest/are incapable as playing as part of a team. An English manager would help as well. A grossly overpaid, contracted foreign manager is never a good thing - but since when did the nobs at the FA ever do anything in the interest of the national team?
i agree with matt, not a footy expert but can tell when a player dosent have a good game although i think capello has been good especially with his rules on what the players can and cant do and take the emphasis of the wags.i would like to see lower division players have a chance.
just wish people wouldn't keep saying were goin to win the cup just play every game as it comes then it wont be a disapoinment if we dont get tothe final
what makes me laugh is the men wandering round the electrical stores looking at the big tellys thinking about buying them for the world cup like my son did last time round. it wont make england play any better.

No, I didn't think it was funny at all. It's another word for Stella. I won't get into details on here as it's not the place, but believe me, I know all about domestic violence!! I have the scars and the X-Rays to prove it.

i suppose capello knows what hes doing, he watches them with their home teams and he sees how they behave in training. we only see them on the pitch for 90 minutes.
Posted By: Wench Re: World Cup 2010 group fixtures/results/and chat - 2nd Jun 2010 12:37pm
So let me get this squad right - you have to either have played relatively $hit for Liverpool and England for the past season or be a Liverpool reject to get into the team?? Hmmmmmm think
You poor poor bitter!

But lets face it, England aint got a chance of winning the world cup whoever they choose.

Posted By: Wench Re: World Cup 2010 group fixtures/results/and chat - 2nd Jun 2010 12:56pm
Yup - Leighton Baines should have made the squad frown He's a much better player than Warnock.

As for having Mo from The Simpsons as Captain - it should have been Frank Lampard!
But everyone knows Lampard is shit, and overrated. Captain should probably actually be Beckham, but he's a crap player too now.
I really do believe this time around. Fingers crossed.

Rio ruled out of World Cup
England captain to sit out South African showpiece with knee injury

Rio Ferdinand's World Cup is over, with a knee injury leaving his dreams in tatters.

The England skipper picked up a knock during the latter stages of training on Friday and was immediately rushed away for medical tests as the Three Lions attempted to uncover the severity of the problem.

Initial fears suggested the Manchester United centre-half may have suffered ligament damage and those concerns were heightened as he left a hospital close to England's Rustenburg training base on crutches and with his knee in a brace.

The outlook appeared bleak at that point and Fabio Capello's worst fears have now been realised.

The Italian was quick to play down the problem during his press conference on Friday, but that was while he awaited news on a scan.

Since then it has been revealed that Ferdinand will play no part in this summer's South African showpiece, representing a crushing blow to the Three Lions' plans.
Leader

The experienced defender was set to be a leader on and off the field, but will now be forced to relinquish those responsibilities.

The armband will be passed to Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard, who had been the squad's vice-captain.

Ferdinand's place in the squad will go to Tottenham Hotspur defender Michael Dawson, who was placed on standby the moment news of the injury broke.

The Spurs ace thought his World Cup ambitions were over after he was cut by Capello from the 30-man preliminary party on Tuesday.

However, he is now set to fly out to South Africa on Friday night, where he will reacquaint himself with his international team-mates.

I know!! What is going on this time?? Seems to be that the "main" teams are struggling more than the so called outsiders. The Ref for the Slovenia-USA match is a bit whistle happy though.

James 'earns Capello faith'
Heskey to keep his place, despite calls for Defoe

Sky Sports News sources understand that David James has been promoted to England's starting line-up to face Algeria while Emile Heskey will keep his place in attack.

Speculation has been raging over who will start in goal for England on Friday night after Rob Green's calamitous error led to last weekend's 1-1 draw against the USA in World Cup Group C.

Sky Sports News revealed earlier on Friday that veteran shot-stopper James had forced his way to the front of manager Fabio Capello's mind, despite fitness concerns, and that appears to be the case.

England's attacking options have also come under the spotlight after goal-shy Heskey and Wayne Rooney failed to click in the frustrating draw against the Americans in Rustenburg.

Jermain Defoe was thought to be in contention to replace Heskey, with a win essential against Algeria, but Capello is thought to have kept faith with the Aston Villa striker because of his team-work.

Jamie Carragher is expected to start as a replacement for Ledley King having been a half-time substitute for the Tottenham centre-back after he sustained a groin injury, which is threatening his future involvement in the tournament, against the USA.

Capello confirmed earlier in the week that Gareth Barry would return to the centre of midfield following the Manchester City midfielder's recovery from an ankle injury and James Milner is set to miss out.

Apparently all future televised England matches are going to be shown on the Gay Adult Movie Channel as the sight of 11 ar$eholes getting hammered for 90 minutes is far too explicit for normal tv raftl

The England team went to visit an orphanage in Cape Town today.

"It's good to put a smile on the faces of people with very little hope and facing the impossible" said Jamal Umboto, aged 6.

A kinky guy went into a house of ill repute and asked the madam if they did humiliation.
"Oh yes," the madam replied, "we can certainly do that."
"Great," said the guy, "but I don't want any of the soft stuff. Its got to be total humiliation and nothing else."
"No problem, sir," the madam replied. "That will cost you £37.50."
"Blimey," said the guy, "that's cheap for total humiliation. And what exactly do I get for that?"
"An England shirt," the madam replied.
Fook the shitty overpaid, egotistical, in it only for themselves and nobody else, can't play as a team if their lives depended on it, controversy-seeking, celebrity X11 aka the England football team...

THE REAL PRIDE OF ENGLISH SPORT THIS WEEK!!

Oh, yeah, not forgetting..

- 2003 World Cup winners
- 2007 World Cup finalists

And they achieve all this without front page headlines, without affairs with other team"mates" wives, without attracting controversy, without the support of 95% of the nation, without the £100,000+ per week wages, without the multi-million pound player sponsorship deals etc, without the need for "clear the air" talks etc!! They just get out there, and do their very best, for the pride of England!!

Now, remind me when the last time an England football team made it past the semi-finals of a world cup... 1966 ffs!

They will be dreaming, for a very very very very, many years to come! THE FA and the players will make sure of that... What difference does it make to an Italian manager anyway?
what if by any miracles we get to play Italy, who will the manager be supporting.
im made up because germany got beat

Just heard someone on TV say "lets get behind the team"

I agree, that's the best place to give them a good fookin.
Have just heard that the england teams flight is being diverted to Glasgow in order to give the team the hero's welcome they wanted. what a sack of @rseholes, being governed by a complete testicle.
