I still have this for Sale , cant believe the timewasters we have had to deal with has cost us money on ebay with winners coming up with all kinds of excuses or just not getting in touch at all.
For Sale is my V reg jaguar xj8. automatic
Has been good to me but feel its time for a change.
No problems and mot til 1st November.
Unfortuately no tax as it is registered disabled.
I am willing to drive it to the new owner within a reasonable distance before removing the tax.
has full service History and had new timing chain kit fitted last year.
runs perfect and is lovely to drive.
Looking for £700
really needs to go asap

thanks. its in great condition for its age and engine wise is perfect. I think some people on ebay like the thrill of bidding and then have a panic attack when they actually win.
I had one guy who wanted it but said can we wait til he sold his car, so what was the point of bidding if he didn't have the money!!! argghh
its a great car but hard to sell because of what it is. big engine a bit scary for some

It doesn't help that its on disabled class mate, people have to go all the way to preston or swansea now to change the classification.

if i were you i would offer to let them loan the tax until the new V5 becomes available for them to tax it.

the tax only has a month on it . will probably leave it on.
can u not change it in chester when the new tax is bought?

The car would surely have to stay registered to you for the tax to remain in force.

i was under the impression the new owner would be able to go to the dvla with the v5 and the relevant documents to change the tax class and buy the new disc.
maybe I was given the wrong information

No you are quite right but the Chester office has now closed down.

Nearest is Preston now, i think thats whats putting your buyers off.

And I'm sure you can do it by post as well just take a week instead not a big issue for someone if they wanted the car

According to DVLA website, Chester will close November 2013.
