I read that this isnt widescreen? also the native res is only 800x600 is this correct?

That is correct, the specs are in the links provided, no hdmi so its conversion leads i`m afraid.

At 4 metres distance it will be about 2.4 metres (8 foot to me )

At 3.5 metres distance it will be about 2.1 metres

No sorry, I use it on a white wall.

This is very bright so doesn't really need a screen.

The clarity is very good, took it to work today to see how it was in the garage

You seem to not realise that this is 2800 LUMENS! You will NOT get a DLP projector with this kind of brightness for £100, this is a true bargain.
