For Sale : Porsche 924 2.0 - £650 - 1st Jul 2009 8:07pm
I'm selling my Porsche 924.
It's very reliable, does 30 - 35 mpg and I'm paying 120 pounds a year on classic insurance.
The only bad points with the car is the paintwork was painted silver (original colour was petrolsilver) and it's tatty. You can only see this upclose. It also has a matte black bonnet.
The car has no rust whatsoever as the whole body was galvanised. The interior is fine with a few tears on the vinyl headlining. The engine was totally rebuilt in 2007, and the car has only done 59,000 miles.
The car has just had a new windscreen which cost 550 quid, and a new Porsche exhaust system, including little things like wheel bearing and brakes in 2009 and a new heavy duty battery. It has good tyres on standard Porsche alloys, including the same as a spare.
I am selling as the steering, clutch and gearchange is very heavy, and I'm used to little easy Japanese things. I drove the car from Newcastle to the Wirral recently and it was fine, you will random knocking noises and mad fluctuations with the gauges (as is the case with Porsches from this era), but it is totally reliable.
