Found an injured female blackbird today that had been savaged by a cat. Snowhite captured it in a towel, put it in a cat carrier and took it indoors to warm up and rest - it didn't put up any fight.

After a few hours it was starting to look a lot livelier so after Snowhite fed it on meal worms she took it outside for release.

It flew a bit shakily up to the top of a nearby small tree, waited a few seconds then made a beautiful flight to where I presume its home is.

Still some feathers lying around and a cat that keeps checking under the car where the blackbird had been hiding, definitely a near miss!

Freebird - absolutely classic song but I used to get a lift to work of a guy that played it non-stop in his car. After a lot of therapy I used it as a ring tone on my phone 38 years later - thanks JU, love you really grin
