If you were feeding a middle age 11kg dog (corgi size) who has average but sedate exercise,(back problem) and you wanted to do half wet (tin) and half dry mixer , how much of each would you feed ? Im interested in what people would feed from their own experience, not what the manufacturers say. Thanks.
I mix mine one third of meat, two thirds dry"big bite size as it cleans his teeth as well,
One tin, he`s on whiskers at the momant since cats are fussy eaters and he loves it
350 grams of dry mixed in.
He`s quite big 48 KG last time I weighed him venice i go to pets at home and slide out the scales there.

You're not kidding... 48KG!? that's a big old pussy cat you got there! is it a panther, or something?
LOL!!
No no he`s a dog, I should of mentioned that
Ha, quite a big boy then. Our dog gets half a can of Winalot and 160g of bisc (not complete) a day.(split into 2 meals). His coat isnt looking up to much , I just thought maybe I should be increasing his meat, but it doesnt sound like it compared to yours.
Anyone else got any feed comparisons ?
Hi Venice, try Evening Primrose Oil capsules for your dog's coat, a vet recommended them for one of our dogs and it worked wonders.
Mine gets 1/4 cup boiled rice 1 tin tuna in sunflower oil but I've been giving her the small trays of meat in jelly & 3 cups of dried. she's not been herself & been off her food so I've been giving her 2 weetabix raw egg & honey in milk in the morning as she's lost some weight which for her isn't a bad thing as she was 48kg & the vet reckond about 40kg for her.

Your dog gets better fed than I do.
She's a known thief as she will steal any food that's been left lying round but I blame that on her past as she either had the wrong diet as a pup & I don't know how long she was on the street before she was picked up.She must of had to fight for her food in the past
Thanks Ludvig - I will try that out. Thanks all .
I would feed raw food, much better than commercial diet full of additives, grains and sugars.
I feed my 1 year old Japanese Akita raw food too. He loves it and it makes cleaning up after he's been to the toilet so much easier.
I get it from this shop in Moreton.

i visited a raw pet food place in Argyle St with a view to feeding raw, last year for our other dog who had tummy problems . We didnt do it because the cost was something approaching £20 a week . This place sounds a lot cheaper not least because present dog is smaller. Might give that some thought. Thanks for the link.
Definitely get yourself to Dog's Diner. Raw food is the way forward and they'll help you out.
Ouch! Twenty quid a week! I feed two on raw for 30 quid a month.
