I'm posting this on behalf of a friend who found the following dogs...

Found 2 Lhasa apso/schitsu dogs on Seabank Road. Looked lost in good condition but were going to get run over so picked them up. Unable to find owner so taken to corporation road dog warden. Hope they find their owner.

Thanks ever much for finding them we live on 78 seabank road and the front door blew open, we spent hours looking for them and phoned kennels the are chipped but no one phoned us we cant pick them up until today and will be charged silly money. They said we could get them yesterday as the were closed, but they took them in. Anyway thanks to the kindness of someone who took the time to take them there my children are very happy. Only just moved into new house so dogs are not sure of area.

So glad you got them back. So the point in micro chipping is what? ? Nobody rang you,!! £72 For 1 night must be good hotel and i bet they didn't eat either. I have szchitty would be petrified if she got out. She has no road sense. Alls well that ends well.

Here speaks one ungrateful person.£72 to have two dogs kept in a place of safety, fed , watered and looked after.Doors don't just blow open they are left unsecured.Your fault they got out, your fault you had to pay.Tough.I'm just glad the dogs are O.K.

Just a reply to the comment above i pay my council tax and should not have to pay so much they was not picked up by council, they was taken there by a kind person who found them. People just drop there dogs off who are fed up of them not a place for dogs that are loved! Hats off to the staff who do a good job but council should be charging people who drop there dogs of until they are rehomed. I phoned cross lane and looked everywhere for them i have a big old heavy door an my husband closed it over with the latch up and the wind did blow it open after he left house so to the person who left comment if you have a dog i hope your dog does not end up there as the kennels have kennel cough there so i now have the worry they could have it and possibility of huge vets bills
hi ludwigvan
these 2 dogs are well looked after by the family and are new to this area and door did blow open as owner thought it was shut tight, also £72 is an exhorbanted price to keep 2 dogs in overnight at the kennels and my daughter willingly paid it even though she has only just moved into the house and could well have done without paying that much money out.

Thank you for that kind reply i was told my dogs was kept seperate from other dogs because there us kennel cough there, but its air born and could still get it. Its not the staffs fault but carless people who dont love and look after there dogs and think they can just drop them off and the rest of us have to pay towards it ir council tax some poor dogs just with no homes there the owners should be held accountable

some people just throw their dogs out because you have to pay £70.00 just to hand them over,it cost me £45 to get my dog out when she got out a few years ago its gone down to £36 if you get them out within the first 24 hours.I got my present dog last september she was there 6 months & she didnt have kennel cough.

I think the point was that the dogs were found and delivered to the kennels on Sunday so were obviously open to receive them. Both dogs are chipped so would of just been a call to owner to collect. However they had to stay in longer for no apparent reason. Nobody doubts how brilliant the kennels are and how full they are. So a call and return on same day would of saved all concerned any further stress. Including the overstreched kennels. We all make mistakes and the door was not left open but flew open...it happens! ! Glad the dogs are back were they belong.
