looking at insurance for my new puppy, they ask what breed she is, she is a cross breed, Mother is a Bichon Frise, Father is a Chihuahua, so is she a Chihuahua cross or a Bichon cross?

She closer resembles her Father.

its a difference of £52 a year depending on which she is.

Technically, unless there is a name for it (like a labradoodle etc) it's a mongrel so I'd say as much.

the insurance gave me the option of;

  • Pedigree
  • Cross-breed (2 breeds)
  • Mixed (3 or more breeds)

We know her parents are pedigrees of 2 different breeds, therefore she is a cross-breed. so I chose that option, it then said what type of cross breed and listed pedigree breeds. I thought it would have gave 2 drop down boxes and you chose the 2 breeds but no, just the 1.

So do I choose the Mothers breed, the Fathers breed, the breed she most closly resembles or what?
