I remember another news story of a dog pictured in the papers last year I think, or early this year. Practically starved to death. In fact I thought the poor dog was dead, he really was a skeleton. BUT, he was cared for and the after pictures were amazing. Still a shocking pic though, I just kept looking at it not believing what I saw. This one had a happy ending, glad to say.

There are many many parents who ignore film and game age ratings and let their kids watch almost anything. If kids see violence frequently it becomes the norm. Their level of daring also increase, what we thought of as naughty in those Jurassic times when we were young is normal these days, when they want to do something more daring, it is proportionally more extreme.

I fully appreciate that bringing up kids is hard but when parents blatantly ignore the obvious and all advice, the blame can firmly land on them.

Yes, some kids are naturally naughtier than others, there is bound to be variance but it is life experience from day one that matters.

There could be another way of looking at children viewing modern day films and playing the games available, unlike in my childhood of growing up watching the lone ranger and the likes, war films galore, well no one bled and more often than not, death came quickly and quiet, it could have had the effect on the youth of that time that war and violence wasn't very violent at all. Today's youth seeing all this violence in games and films that perhaps the censor thinks they shouldn't be watching, may have the reverse effect, seeing bodies explode by gunfire and heads rolling off with a swipe of a sword, may actually put them off carrying out these activities. A debatable subject i think playmates.

Most people speed whilst driving, because its the norm, we are more aware now of the injury and death that speeding causes but it hasn't had the reverse effect.

What you experience regularly becomes the normal, what is normal becomes acceptable.

Perhaps a lot of drivers do speed but not all and when they do its only a few MPH over the speed limit, not many do 70mph in a 30mph zone, i agree the thought of injury doesn't deter them, its more the punishment handed out if their caught. However, the millions of children who play these games, i think a very small percentage would go out and act out what they see. This is where the born evil comes into it, in my view, it like a ticking time bomb, its just waiting to be detonated. Not all evil children as i see it have watched these games or come from a deprived backgrounds and it has nothing to do with bad parenting. If the former was the criteria for evil and evil deeds then God help us all.

I just can't believe that anyone could be so cruel, the story really does make me want to weep. What the hell is wrong with people! I dread to think what these 'little Darlings' will be up to in another 5 years time.. Makes you wonder who is to blame. Is it parents who dont give a sh*t or is it the media and television desensitising kids.. I mean how many murders have they been in Albert square alone this year? Thats without all the movies showing all sorts of sadism and criminal brutality as being as being part of today's 'normal' society

The arguments have got to hold both ways, otherwise it is plain wishful bias.

I believe that most people are born naturally good and i still hold on to, in the most part this is a good world and so are the people who occupy it. We all have our own views on what is bad or a bad person, they will vary greatly, to me evil and the type of people who fall in to that category are the likes of the Bulger killers, Mary Bell, the Kray twins and of cause Hitler and his henchmen etc, all different types of evil from different era's, Whether a good person can do what the aforementioned have done, i doubt it.
