Seemingly in the space of hours, our black labs ear has swelled up massivly!! Its huge!
He dusnt seem to be in pain and 'enjoyed' a warm compress. Wtf? Wot is it? His ear is huge+ sticking out at a right angle, big pinky lump??

basically a bust blood vessel in your dog's ear. It's quite common and not dangerous. It is however uncomfortable for your pet and needs to be drained and have a tube stuck in it by your vet. It's a real quick and simple procedure.
They're caused mostly from a dog shaking its head too much/too hard. Make sure he's free of fleas and have his ears checked to find out what's irratating them
It could be anything from haemotoma to a bee sting . You will have to see the vet. Poor Barney, get well soon.

Yes its a haemotoma, he's had pain relief injection that will last for four days. Booked in for op on monday, to drain it and put a cannula in.
Am so relieved- he not in pain even b4 the jab but 'uncömfortable'.

Dont know if it works because psychologically i cudnt face puttin stuff on my face thats clearly designed for application on arseholes!

Aww animals are so trusting-just stood there when she give him sedative+ pain relief. Aww, gonna try+ keep myself busy.

Well, he almost back to himself!!
He was drowsy last night, but came up in the night+ was kissing us, tail wagging. Got ten days of tabs-havent googled them yet but assume they antibiotics or painkillers (i didnt pick him up). Got a stick hangin out his ear bout inch long, seems ok with it in atm. All in all he's great!
Ps. Antibiotics- just looked.
