Hi all.

Tarot started being sick last night at about 10pm. I've starved her since as that's what the Vet said to do, as long as she drinks. Trouble is, she won't even drink.

Vet said to starve her for 24hrs, but can anyone suggest how I can get her to drink, short of forcing her to?

I don't like the idea of her being ill and not able to tell me what she wants.

I'm wondering if it's something she's picked up from the mersey as I can't keep her out of it.

Any help appreciated!

Have you tried a salt lick, it will dry out the dogs mouth to a point where they need to drink. Like when fast food places put extra salt on your chips to encourage you to buy more drinks.

No, not tried that. Thought they were only for donkeys, horses and Johnny Keogh.

Me too - heard about 3 dogs that have died in the past few weeks that only go on the beach that started off being sick like she is. I'd die if I lost her.

mad as it sounds but try a small syringe with water in an trickle it in if she'll let u?! x

awwwwwwwwwwww poor Tarot im sure he will pull through hun i wouldn worry to much im sure its only a bug plus the more you worry the more the dog will pick up on the bad vibes ur letting off and make Tarot feel worse so be strong as you can and keep us updated please

The puppy officially known as Princess Tarotino Flibberty Gibbert Bananahammock has this evening eaten half a freshly roasted chicken, 2 small yorkshire puddings, home made from scratch chicken gravy and boiled rice and drank a bowl of water.

She's not 100% but is somewhat back to normal as she has had a mad 2 minutes fighting with me on the bed and has had a walk on the front where she ate some grass.

Just wanted to thank you all for your help and your wishes.
