Spotted a group of metal detectors working a field in central Wirral yesterday, I won't give the location away but I reckon it should be good for some Roman and maybe earlier finds (that doesn't really help guess the location).

Was it anyone from here?

The problem with that is the people who were there probably had permission off the farmer, if it goes public on the internet a load of 'tectors turn up without permission and wreck it for everyone.

Watched a couple of guys from a distance in a field near eastham and thought they were detecting. Met one of them a week later at the same place and they were actually moleing..
