Heres a couple of finds my daughter has found recently.

Royal navy Captain/commander or Lieutenant button from around 1787. The back still has its shank intact and reads "Standard Colour". A crown was added above the anchor on these buttons from 1812, so its defiantly pre 1812. I have put a 1p in the picture for size.

She has also pulled up a Qing (Ch'ing) Dynasty coin from 1736-1795 with a square hole in the centre, this has slight damage of this centre square.

These are her best 2 finds so far and she is very proud. Considering I have been over and over these fields, they are still producing some good bits. Hopefully there is a lot more to come smile

Great finds indeed. Well done to your daughter! I "think" the chunk of WW2 fuse is from an artillery shell of some sort. It seems conical - as per fitted to the tip of a shell. Bombs (apart from mortars) usually have a sunken fuse pocket. Top of fuse flush with the bomb case. Could be wrong?

Happy hunting!

The Chinese coin is intriguing... I wonder how it came to be here at that period in time, and who brought (and lost!) it? A seaman perhaps?

An interesting mystery! Well done to your daughter! smile

Wish I could get close ups as clear as that! Fabulously clear. Interesting finds.

Thanks for that info Pinz smile

Thanks Gold_moon, I have wondered this myself, and think it may have been a necklace at some point judging by the ware of the square hole, but could be wrong.

Thanks Venice smile these have again been taken on my Iphone 4s.
