The Master Mariner, 3-5 Union Terrace, Marine Prom, New Brighton.

Opened on 23rd April 2013 as a J.D. Wetherspoons pub with food.

Previous names for pubs & clubs at this location have been:

The Krall
The Golden Guinea Club
Playas Bar / RJ's.

The building is well over 100 years old, probably closer to 150 years. What was it in the past? Can you help?

Current picture from the Wetherspoons site is attached below..

1911,
4 Union Terrace was a boarding house.
It was called the Kraal - Spent many a night
there in the 1960's and met my wife there.

Try Googling:- Kraal New Brighton

Norton states it was called the "Krall", what was it before that?.
Union Terrace, New Brighton, dates back to at least 1856, below advertisements in the Liverpool Mercury 1856 and 1859.

Was also a Union Terrace in Egremont (possibly the whole promenade from New Brighton to Egremont used to be called this)

possibly how Master Mariner got its name
