Hiya Derek,
Do you know if, in the 60's, there was a newish pub, in
the Stoke Street area, by the prefabs, alongside Park Station ?

The only 2 that I can think that were newish near there were the Pacific and the Pilot
My 1950s map ends just short of that area

The Pilot is the one in question.

Thanks a lot Derek.

In the same area, saw some renovation going on at The Old Trunk. Got the idea it might just be going to be accommodation though I could be wrong. Apparently Asians have cottoned on to buying up old pubs and converting them into flats, you've got to admire their business sense.

A corner shop + flats in some cases.
If you can get a pub with say 8 rooms upstairs, I think you could get £600 a week if not more and the mortgage paid for by the rents
As you say "you've got to admire their business sense."

hmm roughly £30,000 a year
