RECENTLY INFORMED THAT WHEN THEY BUILT THE TAX OFFICE OVER THE PIER THEY FILLED IN THE CELLAR TO PUT THOSE PILES THROUGH.SOME WISEOWL FORGOT YOU WOULD NEED ONE TO PUT THE ALE IN!
Used to drink in the pier hotel don't understand why a lovely building like this is still laying empty been empty for years now !

The single storey end had the additional floors added to it when then building was refurbed for the tax, in the 1980s .
Often had a pint with my late Dad in their (whitbreads Mild?) in the early 80s - but the single storey bit was not used then - just the main building..
