theft of Scout's canoe and outboard engines! - 19th Oct 2011 1:39pm
I'm a leader in a Sea Scout group and last night we discovered our boathouse had been broken into.
the boathouse is next to 12 Quays college on Shore Road, Birkenhead. Its in the dock complex there.
the details are -
Those of you connected with water activities, especially in the North West, please keep your eyes open for second hand outboards. Especially a 25hp Suzuki which has (or has had) an orange plastic prop guard fitted its steering rig has been proffessionally removed although the throttle and ignition system could not be removed so was smashed off. There is also a 24hp Yam, another smaller four stroke Yam and some other smaller two stoke engines. The stolen canoe is a Old Town Discovery 158 in green plastic, it still has the owners manual cable tied to the seat and the seat-backs stapped in but unfitted. It obviously has no usage marks but may have a one long scratch along one side as there was a long shaving left on the door frame.
Please pass this on to anyone you know who may be involved in water activities especially in the area
Thanks for any help
Fiona
