as some of you know we had a break in a few weeks back and know they have broken into my car whilst parked on my driveway last night must be something about friday nights
it's so annoying in that i moved to a nicer area and have had 2 instances in less than 3 weeks talk about lucky yep that's me not. their so inteligent it does'nt even run as fuel pump has given up and to busy with work to fix it so lucky its still there but i did hear a noise outside and looked out of the side window but didnt see anything so must of disturbed them as they had'nt even had a go at the ignition just bent the door back but i have a spare just not the door they have damaged so i'm on the look out for a o/s rear door must be mint.
i've managed to straighten it out but now it does'nt shut properely as it's twisted and has dropped a little bit. they even left the cd player and the sat-nav in the glovebox.
anyway heres a pic of the damage. and i thought they were strong door's well they are cause it took ages to bend it back to the right shape

Posted By: AX_125 Re: theiving scum part 2 car broken in xr4x4 - 4th Oct 2008 4:33pm
suppose they are seen as easy targets as they are quite easy to steal.
Posted By: endoxr4x4 Re: theiving scum part 2 car broken in xr4x4 - 4th Oct 2008 4:42pm
their not that easy to steal with alarm and immobiliser on as mine has just battery is flat but will charged and back on soon so let them comeback they'll have a shock plus no fuel pump so won't go far. i'd say they are harder than most vauxhall as doors are thick and has got gutter's on the top as they used a crow bar to bend the door and only got it about 1 1/2 inches out took 2 of us to fix it so rain was'nt getting in about 30 mins at least

KILL THEEEEEM mad fight handbag somad
really pisses me off scummy barstard that do this to get smacked up, suppose the age of the car makes it more of a target, probably just expect it to be easy to steal, regardless of the make of car...

What car is it, i can't tell.

I had the same done with a Ford Escort (G reg) obviously knowing how easy they are to steal, got in and got to the ignition. Unfortunately for them, i'd pre-empted it and took the battery out. They'd even moved it out half onto the road, to try a jump-start i presume, but must have been disturbed

It only takes a couple of seconds ... take the Fuel Injection fuse out of the fuse box every night. They won't be going anywhere without that (unless they somehow trace the problem and replace the fuse). smile

I remember getting in my old car and thought 'it's windy in here', and looked up to see a gaping hole where the top of the door used to be. barstard, I'd kill them!

Iwonder if they can get past the immobiliser on my car, if you lose the fob, the only way to get past it is bygetting a new ECU, so I wonder what technique the criminal's would use; they would make a fortune if it were possible and they sold the instructions lol, I know tonnes of MG Rover owners who have had to get replacement ECU's due to them losing/braking fobs and not having the fob code.

Having said that though, they rekon the future of car crime i carjacking, sand all the immobilisiersin the world aint gonna do shit for that haha.

Aye which is why a quality anti hyjack alarm shall probably be an essential item for the insurance.

I have a button on mine that you can press after the car has been hijacked, and it will cut out ten seconds later. smile

Immobilisers sometimes just bypass the ignition switch to the starter - you can connect these two wires, but that's only on older cars.
Posted By: MattLFC Re: theiving scum part 2 car broken in xr4x4 - 3rd Dec 2008 12:07pm
Ah I see, mine immobilises the ECU, which means the car won't start, it will just beep without the fob, even if you have the key (or if you witch the engine off and open the drivers door, without locking and unlocking the car using the fob). This is why it means a new ECU paired with a new fob etc to get around losing the old fobs.

I always wondered how they get past some immobilisers!

still dont stop the fooking scumbags putting your windows thru, and scattering all that NICE glass and shards all over the interior of your vehicle!!!!
I recon that when the car is cleaned of glass that you save it, then IF the pricks are ever caught (if the police ever get outside and do their jobs!!!) make the vermin eat the glass!!! Thats glass gone, you get to enjoy ... suffering and justice served CORRECTLY!!!! somad
