Lockup broken into - idiot thieves apprehended - 20th Apr 2008 9:39am
I currently rent two council lock-ups.
Last year sometime, I had one in Eastham broken into, and my petrol generator was stolen. The lock had been broken, and the genny was removed. I changed the locks, and then they came back, they stole my welder as well. Again, lock was changed, and they came back for the rest fo my stuff, but it was all moved out by that time.
Last year in August, I received a bisit from two poice officers at 11.30pm, who asked if I owned a Vauxhall Astra (with reg). I thought, "Jesus! they've gone to my other lock up and stolen my car!!"
Apparently, three 17 year olds where discovered on a train by Transport Police travelling towards Birkenhead North (surprise, surprise), carrying three big toolboxes and a Nikon digital camera (mine also).
They were arrested and were recently charged (with some pissy community service punishment - and a fine which their mothers had to pay). They also had to write me a letter of apology (which I would shove firmly up their ar$eholes, as I this means absolutely nothing).
I finally got my stuff back last week after 9 months!
Just a word of warning, either put twenty hardened locks on your lock up if you have one, or don't have one at all.
