CAAT (Campaign Against Arms Trade) spokesman Andrew Smith welcomed the judgment, saying the Saudi Arabian regime was one of the most brutal and repressive in the world - yet for decades had been the largest buyer of UK-made arms.

and

Research by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, a think tank which monitors the global weapons industry, puts Britain in second place as a supplier of "major arms" to Saudi Arabia, behind the United States and ahead of France.

well, well ! who would have believed it ?

US Senate votes to block Trump's $8bn Saudi arms sale

Selling arms is a great way to keep a country 'great'. and an even better way to climb out of recession. Hardly surprising that US is involved in so many wars and probably the reason we are also bringing in the revenue from arms sales .

US has been at war 222 out of 239 years.

I suppose no one be surprised to that Switzerland with its history of humanitarian do gooding has increased its arms sales up by 14% with 30% of its arms sales going to countries embroiled with internal struggles, so much for svens utopia.

Stop boringly knockin it....have you ever been there ? Even the air tastes better. All countries do bad things cause guess what/ why ? ?? Theyre run by humans .
30 % of all earths wealth is there too.
Uk & usa always go down on bended knee to middle eastern rulers to sell planes & weapons.
" gives us jobs / money " over rules all standards.
Swiss is the antithesis of the uk.
Watch " the crimes of US presidents " by noham chomsky. Another great intelligent man. It takes 13 mins for his mega brain to get thro em.
Comedy bit " next one ,bush.....erm dont have to talk about one " " its obvious " he says.

Maybe back in the days of Brothers Grimm, but these days air pollution kills 5000 people a year in Switzerland.

Particulates, ozone, nitrogen oxides and ammonia all exceed guidelines. However the air is fairly clean in the the southern half if you like living above 10,000 ft and the associated weather.

You don't get much fresh sea air in Switzerland as it is landlocked.

What BS DD, oh yes 1 in 5 uk people have lung problems / breathing issues in the uk. Thats 12.7 million.
Lung cancer is at 86000 a year.
So 5000 in a pop of 8.5 million in swiss is a big nothing in comparison in your silly " facts " ha just stupid.

Hearing what's going on in the ME, I hope to goodness arms sales are stopped for a long period. Bolton the 'toe-rag' has arrived in Israel for an Unprecedented Security Summit. Israel ,US, and Russia around the table.

If Trump and co. decide to attack Iran, the overflow is going to be mammoth. Reading this article which explains just about everything we 'might' be able to grasp, shows how so many countries and different factions are likely to be caught up, and Netanyahu is calling on 'peace loving countries' to support US against Iran's aggression. (Joker)
I think he needs to re-word all of that plea . Israel pissing themselves now, but when you read this article(which is interesting but quite long) it explains how every country is locked in aggression towards another in the region.
Pretty awful, and Saudi and UAE should not be part of it.

Been thinking !

If Jeremy Hunt is our present Foreign Secretary, and he negotiates with the likes of Iran and other ME countries, as Shadow Foreign Secretary is Emily Thornberry , what hope in hell would she have of negotiating anything with an Islamic country ?

If Labour were in Government now, what would she be doing in this Iran/Us/Middle East crisis ? I would love to know.

Let's hope it's not going to be a Falklands factor,, sending the boys off flag waving, land of hope and glory, on the tails of Trump's coat, embroiled in another fiasco.

Contrary to what UK media would like you to believe, there are loads of female ministers and politicians in Islamic/Arab countries.

Iran has had 12 female cabinet ministers including the current Vice President for Legal Affairs Laya Joneydi.

True, the mess that was Vietnam would pale into insignificance compared to taking on Iran, even the Saudis have backed out (and probably told Trump to).
