Message put out tonight on NewsNow.

To all our readers in the EU
This Thursday we need your help. This morning, the European Parliament will vote on a new copyright directive. If approved, these changes threaten to disrupt the open Internet that NewsNow is a part of. You have time to act. Join the discussion. Thank you.

I don't understand what it all means . Would it be another way to control the media and only allow media reports that could not be argued ? Maybe someone can explain, please. Is it good or bad fro freedom of speech etc.

As with many EU proposals, the principles of what they propose are not totally unreasonable however what they are proposing to implement is completely unrealistic and irresponsible.

If they want to control the large monopolistic enterprises like Google etc, they should do it under monopoly powers wimp out at taking Google on and instead hit every man and his dog at the same time.
Its been voted out so this copyright law won't becoming into force in the foreseeable.

Yep, saw that news on one of the channels, earlier.. It does seem a stupid idea from what I can understand. Thanks DD.
