Keep calm Cools, I do not think anything will happen.

I think something has to happen sooner or later Cools. Kim the looney is determined to keep launching his weapons no matter what Trump threatens. Trump in turn keeps threatening to use full force to stop him. I see no way this will be settled around a table.

And here am trying not to worry Cools lol.
Trump is smart he knows just exactly what he is doing.

That is a problem IOM. Such massive threats being tweeted and flung by Trump , takes him to the point of no return, should Kim Jong Un decide to call his bluff.

A pair of immature leaders with their toys, building towards a 'play date'
Posted By: fish5133 Re: Madman Kim Jong Un - 11th Aug 2017 7:49pm
building up for a potential false flag in order for the yanks and other interested parties to have an excuse to rid themselves of Kim..
Posted By: Excoriator Re: Madman Kim Jong Un - 11th Aug 2017 8:34pm
The US has been fomenting trouble between North and South for years. I can't say I blame NK for developing nuclear capability at all. If you lived in a nation with the Yanks flying sorties over your country twice a day, running sabre-rattling exercises and loosing of 'test' missiles withing a few miles of your border whilst pumping out bellicose threats unless you do what they say, what would you do?

There is no law against nations developing nukes or the missiles to deliver them, despite what America claims. Indeed it is exactly what America does.

Trump would do well to seek a diplomatic solution that involves the removal of US forces from the area, rather than making threatening noises. He is now up against an enemy that might be able to take out Manhattan and Guam with a nuke or two. Hardly a good way to make America great again.

Posted By: diggingdeeper Re: Madman Kim Jong Un - 11th Aug 2017 8:42pm
This is the normal North Korean diplomacy, they mouth off, they expect someone to mouth off back and eventually it all goes quiet. As long as its kept to a bit of willy waving then it will continue.

Biggest worry is if Japan or USA get trigger happy after North Korea launch yet another missile into the sea, there will then be claims it was heading for land.

In the Vietnam war, it was started with an attack on a US base.

I don't think the Americans want that all over again.

I find it odd that every time there are new leaders in power of the prime countries of the world (can't think of another word apart from 'prime', yes it sounds bad and wrong) there always has to be a show of 'might' and 'power'.

I'm sick to death of them all. Get half a dozen new world leaders in a period of a couple of years and I wonder what would happen then ?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: Madman Kim Jong Un - 12th Aug 2017 3:10pm
Well Ste, if I had the american vote, I would have been one of those idiots you talk of.

I don't find it a bother to say so either.

Not many times on here do me and snowhite stand united!!

This idiot Kim Jong Un still at it ramping up the tension!! He frightens me , when you look at him laughing and revelling in his actions which surely can't go on! What's to be done with him to bring him to his senses, mind you don't think he's got a brain!!! He needs taken out one way or another.

We are constantly told North Korea is one of the most secret countries on earth..yet we keep getting lots of photos and stories about what Kim Jong is up to.
Wouldn't surprise me if we in the west are being gently drip fed propaganda to make us ready for accepting an attack on North Korea and the last part of your post suggests its working to some degree. It was a tactic Adolf used about the jews being vermin that needed controlling. Trump threatening to nuke North Korea wasn't too helpful. Was the same about Iran which seems to have gone quiet.
Posted By: cools Re: Madman Kim Jong Un - 30th Aug 2017 7:23pm
Well I just see this maniac sending missiles towards other countries and as I think he is a meglomaniac and revelling in this madness he loves it! I'm sure his people are not fully in agreement but because you can't show it and all brainwashed they look to be behind him. It just really frightens me this situation because it's getting everyone jittery and god knows what action will occur if he continues..
Posted By: cools Re: Madman Kim Jong Un - 4th Sep 2017 9:43am
Is anybody else as worried as I am over this lunatic? It's sheer madness what he's doing, like poking a sleeping bear!! If America attack surely they will come off worse?? God knows what it will do to world peace!! Am I overreacting, I hope so!I wish someone in his own Entourage would rid us of him , although I know there might be some one worse ready to step in. It can't be benefitting North Korea though and I suspect there will be alot of frightened people within.
Posted By: diggingdeeper Re: Madman Kim Jong Un - 4th Sep 2017 12:11pm
Don't you think that if North Korea was anything as unstable and a threat as the media and some politicians are making out that Japan, China, South Korea, Russia and even Mongolia would be in alliance and doing something major about it knowing full well that trigger happy USA and UK would be bound to join in?

Its a political war of words, not a physical war until the USA or similar do something stupid and make it into yet another Vietnam, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan etc.

North Korea population 25 million.

Available for military service.
6,515,279 males, age 15-29 (2010),
6,418,693 females, age 15-29 (2010)

Reserve Personnel :
600,000 reserves (2012)
5,889,000 paramilitary (2012)

Active Personnel ;
950,000 -1,190,000 (2012)

Who is about to compete with that lot ?

I think they want to rattle South Korea into action and then stampeded their way in. Thus making it far more difficult for any allies to do battle with them. He's certainly pushing all the buttons and wanting reaction, for some specific reason.

Linking into another comment about a new royal baby. Maybe in some minds it's our best bet to do what the Russians did and kill them all off, put the money to good use by setting up Corbyn as President in Buckingham Palace, (the Corbyn Dynasty) and send him to negotiate with Kim Jong Un in a cosy meeting about how to ban the bomb and he might even be able to negotiate a deal of 'free trade coffee' , to keep his wifey in business.

Oh yes, did you know that Russia is hoping to reinstate it's Royal Family.

quote "
The leaked letter read: "Throughout the history of its reign, the Imperial dynasty of the Romanovs was one of the pillars of Russia's sovereignty."

The country now "goes through a difficult process of restoring the country's greatness and returning its global influence" and "members of the Romanov House cannot stay aloof from the processes taking place in Russia now at such an important historical moment".

Well , blow me ! That's a turn up for the anti-monarchists .

North Korea - 13,000,000 fit for service.

South Korea - 21,000,000 fit for service.
China - 619,000,000 fit for service.
Russia - 47,000,000 fit for service.
Japan - 44,000,000 fit for service.
UK - 24,000,000 fit for service.
USA - 120,000,000 fit for service.

But all that is pretty mute, North Korea has no food and they have no fuel, while they could inflict a lot of damage initially they would fizzle out pretty fast. Just remember that Kim isn't suicidal, he wants life, he wants power, there is no reason for him to risk those. Perversely the lack of food and fuel gives him more power in his country, he's happy as Larry. Being able to throw word grenades at other bigger countries is a bonus in his eyes and that is why he keeps it as an isolationist country.

Without food aid going to North Korea, the whole country would have collapsed years ago. Food supply is so bad that the height of the population is decreasing very noticeably with each generation.

By all accounts, we don't really know much about what he has and doesn't have.
If his army invaded South Korea, quite honestly, I can't see The Royal Iris carrying a few hundred blokes over to invade their shores.
If his weaponry hit Japan, or Guam, then there would be no need for the Royal Iris to make the mission.
That could then escalate into a major bombing battle , or even a new conventional means e.g. poisoning the water system. That's the similar reason the Roman's fled Rome ; the invading army destroyed the aqueducts.
We all seem to recognise that KJU is at best a little insane, and there is no accounting for what 'insane' people might do. He's challenging USA at the moment, so he has the mentality to do that, which is not a common practice worldwide.

Where did your figures come from ? I don't make them equate to anything.

The only figures I can equate are the 200,000,000 mounted troops. Their breastplates were fiery red, dark blue, and yellow as sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions, and out of their mouths came fire, smoke and sulfur.

Calm down Cools, only joking.

Ooh Granny you'll have me running for the hills, ha.. Seriously though the whole situation has me very worried. This moron Kim I think feels he's invincible and his brain set one way to start a war. Like Hitler a meglomaniac and very dangerous!! Look what Hitler did! DD says he's throwing word grenades but he's doing more than that with these missiles. I think he needs shooting because he's like a rabid dog nothing gets through to him just intent on his one aim of causing bedlam. Absolute nutjob!!

Not quite, throwing missiles into the sea is something most countries do, its just been sensationalised by the media in the North Korean case. He followed protocol and gave advance warning of what he was doing.

It is also very common for countries not involved in military exercises to do something nearby to the exercise. In this case the exercise was Northern Viper 17 which was an American and Japanese exercise which ended on 28th August.

Well I hope that you're right DD and I'm wrong to be so worried. He should be looking after his people who by all accounts are starving and not being a warmonger.

We would do similar, stiff upper lip, brivado etc in times of adversary, we don't see ourselves as so theatrical yet much of the rest of the world do - different cultures.

You should be more worried about the other sides, including us. We didn't expect other countries to lay in over the Falklands yet we interfere in other countries.

As long as the rhetoric is being played it will probably carry on as it has for many years but it is the western media and trigger happy politicians that can make it all blow up.
Posted By: DavidB Re: Madman Kim Jong Un - 5th Sep 2017 2:12pm
I remember in the early 90's, it was the same thing (briefly) with Yeltsin who was threatening the west over their intervention during the war in Bosnia. And then something else came along and the news changed it's attention for something else.

Does North Korea even have TV? I doubt they have capabilities to strike anything. What are they going to launch, TNT on a firework? Why do you threaten someone first? His father did this all the time. Their current leader is also a massive bullshitter.

Log out of Facebook/Twitter or whatever you use to see what's going on in the world and stop reading all the scaremongering bollocks stories everyone.
Posted By: cools Re: Madman Kim Jong Un - 5th Sep 2017 2:22pm
I personally don't use Facebook or Twitter David but thanks for your advice anyway...but on the other hand I don't go around not listening to the news and as I said I hope I am worrying about nothing and you are right and feel nothing to it.Just "scaremongering bollocks" your words..
