The Government is about to ban clamping on private land, in exchange though, they are going permit private land-owners to issue fines.

Hey guys here in Oz some of the ground level shopping centre carparks are monitored by private companys and they will fine you if you overstay the mark. It is causing quite a furore.

Its still all a few months away this going through.

Now is the time everyone is going to have to be extra especially careful, until the law changes these clamping company's are going to go full steam ahead to clamp as many cars as they can to rake in the revenue while they can. Not that they have been lackadaisical but a special effort will be made now.
