On Wednesday when the Budget is announced,"Mr EyeBrows" is set to rise car tax for Gas guzzling vehicles to £1000 for the worst offenders, and Fuel Tax is said to raise another 2p.

That £1000 tax will only apply to new vehicles - a bit like the higher tax band for 4x4s at the moment....

As for the 2p, well thats been on the cards for a while, I heard something on the Breakfast news that as the budget this year is going to be pretty much all bad (Average household will be £800 worse off), the fuel tax increase of 2p could be postponed again.....

As the owner of a not-quite-new (1973) 6x6, I will be watching dear Mr Darling's speech with great interest. I already have to plan my routes from filling station to filling station so the 2p a litre sketch ain't so funny!

If my vehicle had been a few months older it would have been be tax-exempt. Poo !

Not arsed about gas guzzlers... if the people can afford to buy and run them, they can afford the tax. I cant afford to buy and run a Ferrari so I dont. No problem lol.

But the fuel is just plain rediculous. As if we arnt taxed enough... dont forget its already enjoyed a nice healthy tax rise as it is during the last 12 months thanks to the price at the pump rapidly increasing!!!
