One of the trains was covered in graffiti whilst being stored at the Tonbridge Yard in Kent, and now Merseyrail will have to spend thousands cleaning it. It is at the Kirkdale depot at the moment and being cleaned.
Surely the yard it was being stored at is insured and this should pay for it.

That sounds ridiculous. If it was trashed in Kent it should be sorted in Kent - unless it was a 'park at your own risk' yard, of course...
There seems to be a problem in the Kent yard, the fourth train in is covered in graffiti too.
A few billion pounds worth of trains but will they employ a watchman? Nah, its ok the public will pick up the tab.
I doubt if insurance works out, the insurers won't make a loss, its going to cost more than the claims. Insurance only works when a large number of people make a relatively small number of claims, the cost is shared amongst everybody. When there is only a small number insured it becomes an overhead not a safety net.
"Cost thousands" Hahaha, no it wouldn't, I would clean all that shite off for a reasonable price if they wanted.
Boris is innocent.
He would have got the wrong train, done a far less expert job of it and ended up covered in paint
