Saw this on Wirral crimewatch and thought I'd share it, pretty serious stuff!! A lady driving in Serpentine Rd Wallasey this morning , three men tried to hijack her car or worse , one stood in front while others tried to get her to get out of car . She luckily had locked the door and managed to drive off. Shaken up to say the least. So beware lock those doors!

What do you reckon youd do if a small group of teens with hoods or mouth scarves surrounded your car when you slowed down on a non too well used road , and 'seemed' intimidating to you even just by standing in front, or shouting at you or banging on the door or window. Do you think you could bring yourself to put your foot down and blast through any person in the way of your direct route to escape?

Oh Venice don't know what I'd do? Soppose it would depend on how terrified and panic stricken I was. Wouldn't like to think I could run anyone over even though they may be asking for it! Just hope I never find myself in that horrible situation. .

Yes... its a risk THEY take . You could also reverse over them to let them get the message. Dash cam would be useful. I dot think a judge would be too sympathetic ..it probably comes under the reasonable force but you would need to be able to prove they were intimidating.. You wouldnt need to blast through them as they are not going to stop a car..driving slowly would be as affective

If I thought my companions or I were at risk of injury I'd have no compunction in inuring those putting me in that situation. As @fish says, its their choice. I wouldn't intentionally maim or kill someone but neither would I waste what could be valuable time in calculating the odds.

I think Id be like you cools, I wouldnt know what Id do till the actual moment . When I was young I thought someone was in the house downstairs when I was alone , so, terrified, I tried to scream out of the window -- and to my horror, absolutely no sound came out , so Im dubious what Id actually be capable of in a real situation. Maybe my body would seize up never mind my voice lol! (ps my mum was still downstairs, hadnt left yet!)

That's happened to me as well Venice on quite a few occasions. It's a terrible feeling you become paralysed with fear, can't move, cant breathe and yes no sound comes out. Horrible feeling!

You people seem to love frightening each other with improbable scare stories. I suppose it's the season for it,

Here's a scary image for you:

A harmless eccentric wearing a skirt, you might think! But I invite you to examine what is tucked into his right sock!

The man is a knife criminal, and the two lads should whip out their mobiles and call teh cops before they are attacked!

Doors locked simply place your hand on the horn. If that fails to deter them, run the f##kers over.

"sound" advice Dilly....

Sound indeed!

We can organise a coach to attend the murder or attempted murder . Now that will be interesting!

Or we could simply let them do and take what they want.

What would your solution be Ex, phone the police and hope they get there in the next few days ?

My solution is not to frighten myself unnecessarily about the vanishingly low probability of it happening to me.

But I avoid reading newspapers that encourage that sort of behaviour by telling you crime is increasing and leaving the house after dark is a suicide mission. I would rather do a proper assessment of any risk.

We were driving from Speke to Hale years ago, when in a part of the road well away from any housing, we spotted an overturned wheelchair, next to which was a young lad lying on the ground twitching horribly in some kind of fit. We stopped the car and ran towards him only to find him jump to his feet and run off. Simultaneously a group of his mates popped up from behind the hedge laughing and jeering at us for being taken in! I thought it was in very poor taste but also very funny.

Have you started worrying about the possibility of being struck by an asteroid yet?

Heard it's happened by the traffic lights at the Halfway House & today on Dacre Hill.Think I'm going to have to remember to lock my doors when I'm driving round, mind you would they try it if they saw the large dog sitting on the back seat.
