Both are coming under the Council's control again. They were previously 'looked after' by some private company at £6 million a year, but this contract is coming to an end.
I wonder if we will now see an improvement?
These contracts should have been monitored better, same as trees and others. It’s going to take time to catch up with the backlog.
If you go onto the Councils website, they are lending £4.6 million interest free to a firm to come and fit new LED streetlamps, going to take three years they hope to save £700,0000 by then, got thousands to replace/renew. Yet they have already spent £3 million two/three years back. lets hope the money lent is repaid.
As for the potholes were're wait and see, our roads are in a shocking state? filling holes isn't going to make them better.
