I noticed that Birkenhead Town Hall flag was at half mast today (25/1/2017), has anyone any idea why?

The Wirral flag protocol is HERE

Apart from a Saudi Prince being executed today, there seems too be no other information available.

Maybe the string is broken, or the last man forgot to pull it down again.

Granny your reply was very amusing. Do you think a local councillor has died?

Don't know if they fly the flag at half mast for a Councillor, Pax. Maybe, but there still doesn't seem to be a mention of any one of them.

This was the Union Jack so wouldn't be for a councillor (the Local Authority flag is used in that situation - see protocol in first post).

Could it have been for Lord Snowden, even though he was buried about 3 days ago or maybe more ?
