A friend has witnessed a male in his 40s throw himself in front of a train near hoylake earlier on today the male was with his wife or partner when it happened.

a sad loss hope the family are ok.

what sad sad state of affairs for the guy and in front of people who knew him as well. They must be traumatised.
Guilt, mental illness, chemical imbalance, demons. does anyone really know?

Speek to british trandport police . They have trained staff and can advice .

All indications are that he is still alive and being treated in hospital for his injuries. See HERE

He must of been in a bad state mentally to do that,feel for the people that witnessed it & the train driver,something that must be hard to get over

Nothing in the news article that says he threw himself in front of the train or was with anyone. Apologise for reinforcing initial post----poor journalism!!

Often 'news' reports and actual events are miles apart, Fish.

Reported in The Globe ( yes, hours ago) the man was being taken to hospital?? Now, that- I do not understand. Man V Train-not good!! frown

Maybe for legal reasons journalists have to be careful with their wording??

A man struck by a train on a level crossing between Manor Road and Hoylake stations has died of his injuries.

Emergency services were called to the scene at Melrose Avenue at around 2pm on Sunday.

A British Transport Police spokesman said this afternoon: "A 51-year-old man who was struck by a train at a foot crossing in Hoylake at the weekend has died.
