A waiting room to die.

A WIRRAL nursing home has been described as a “waiting room to die” by residents in a watchdog report slamming it as “inadequate”.

Care workers at Ryecroft Private Residential Care Home in Meols were forced to wash residents in their bedrooms with a bowl of water because there were no baths or showers.

As well as being short-staffed and unclean, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) found the 14-bed home on Kings Avenue to be stocked with out-of-date food.

The home was also slammed after bosses had “not responded appropriately” to allegations of abuse on three occasions.

This is an absolute disgrace - first the home in Birkenhead and now this one. We have a close relative in a home on the Wirral which has just had an adverse report from the CQC which we have been told is purely non completion of paperwork, but I find that hard to believe. Why hard to believe, well practically each time we have visited our relative he has been in need of care and attention with regard to cleanliness and clothing especially toiletry cleanliness and we have had to point this out to the staff. Its not right, if you complain what is to say they don't take it out on your relative and they suffer more. These home owners want prosecuting as they are only in it for the money, certainly not for the care of the residents.Hit them where it hurts and make them comply, they charge high enough fees to do their duty but are obviously pocketing as much as possible.
