They want to demolish Europa Pools, put restaurants on the site and build another leisure facility near Conway Park station (which is on Europa Boulevard).
At least they'll be building a new pool, I suppose. If they're so keen on enticing people into Birkenhead, they could try reducing the car parking charges - or at least make it free on Sunday? Also free after 3pm?
Question?. is Neptune part of Peel Holdings, is so why not call Birkenhead, Peel City, as I don't go into Peel City whatever happens requires the people of the area's approval.
I think parking is free on Sunday, I saw a sign in the markets at the weekend.

I can't see it working. New Brighton did because people want waterfront attractions - Liverpool and Leeds and Manchester have all cashed in on what water they have.

Birkenhead has the same as Liverpool, but a further big advantage - a fantastic skyline to look on, and it seems daft not to cash in on that.

Wirral council's answer to waterfront development is to charge for parking or sell off their waterfront car parks. Yes, you can park at Seacombe Ferry for free, or Eggy Ferry, but what is there to do there?
Neptune developments vision of a SWIMMING POOL IS ON SHOW AT BUBBLES NEW BRIGHTON don't listen to clowncelors supporting any Neptune development, the don't deliver what they promise
I'm following this story up with hopes to having an interview. I will keep you all posted.

There was talk of both being returned a number of years ago, and the idea of a monstrosity placed at the mouth of the river, to be viewed from the best vantage point, of guess where ? Yes, Liverpool, Sefton Coast. As none happened, then I suppose the press have yet again jumped the gun, giving the public a wrong idea prematurely.
If Neptune develop Birkenhead, I think it would be the best thing. At least the standards will be improved being a company rather than a council that does not make profits, therefore Neptune will look after it's best interests very carefully.

Having said that it seems to be a Liverpool based company and one Board Member at least has worked for Liverpool City Council ! Others for Estate Agents !! (that gets two !!)
