By this article HMV store in Birkenhead will close, keeping open Liverpool & Chester Store.

that and it's always empty, the liverpool one is always busy!

I agree. As it is practicslly the last man standing when it comes to high street music shops, not to be able to find anything new or old to buy leaves a bad taste. I won't miss it.

Shame more locals are going to lose their jobs and have to sign on.

Indeed... With HMV going that only leaves PSYCHAMOK records in liscard and SKELETON records left in birkenhead who deal in the type of stuff hmv sell.
Hopefully now more people will make use of them & they stand a chance of staying afloat and riding out the slump.I never liked HMV much anyway, the staff were hardly ever interested in music and never the type to stand and talk about it with customers. Give me the old fashioned Record shop were the staff can hold a music based conversation with you, without looking bored.
