Police with blues n two's escorting a burnt out single decker Arriva bus just before 12pm being towed, heading towards Birkenhead town centre down Borough Road this morning.

Back end pretty burnt out as well as front side door blackened!!

Wonder were this occurred on the Wirral

Just outside Clatterbridge Hospital about 8 am!! was just leaving house to go that way and decided against it when heared this on news!!

BUS ON FIRE AT CLATTERBRIDGE ROUNDABOUT

Patients travelling for treatment at Clatterbridge Hospital this morning found their journey disrupted when a single decker bus caught fire at the Clatterbridge roundabout

The incident happened at around a quarter past seven and the flames spread quickly through the bus causing major problems for road users

The road to Willaston has been closed off while the bus is removed from the carriageway.

it happened inbetween the volvo garage and claire house in the lap by outside the old entrance to Clatterbridge hospital. i was going past it into work at 8.15 and the fire engines were just going and the tow truck just pulling up. traffic was backed up to the roundabout were the cricket club is. was mayhem

Yep, used to drive that route for Arriva way back! Was a bitch too, have you seen the turning circle at Parkgate (its final destination), its narrow to say the least!!! Bus is 40ft long, forgot the model name!

OK. You're forgiven J. You can get all sorts of stuff off Google. Trouble is, you can go blind ! erm... oops...

The Black Beast is going fine thanks. MOT tomorrow morning. It's only 38yrs old now - what can go wrong ??????? Cough/splutter. I hope it passes as I'm off to a remote bothy in the hills in it until Sunday, straight after the MOT. A lot of it is off road so the boys in blue shouldn't be around. (Tut)

I bet even after the fire, the bus was still in better condition than anything Crosville have in Rock Ferry. Some truly horrific buses there.
