Two Wirral men to stand trial accused of being involved in Birkenhead riots
TWO men will stand trial accused of being involved in the riots in Birkenhead.
Mark Burns, 26, and Lee Shaw, 40, are both alleged to have played a role in the trouble that flared up in Birkenhead town centre in August.
Both men appeared at Liverpool crown court and pleaded not guilty to violent disorder on August 9.
Judge David Aubrey, QC, fixed a trial date for October 17.

Burns, of Cathcart Street, Birkenhead, was granted bail, while Shaw, of Whetstone Lane, Birkenhead, was remanded into custody.
