A CYCLIST has been taken to hospital following a collision with a car this afternoon.
The incident, which involved a green Ford Fiesta, happened near to Birkenhead Central Station in Argyle Street South at around 2.05pm.

The cyclist was taken to Arrowe Park Hospital to be treated for head injuries.

Police have closed the road until further notice.

Looks nasty, hope the cyclist is ok.
Passed that on the bus - saw cop cars,ambulance and a person lying on the ground.
Traffic still moving around there within 6/7 feet of the person as it's on the main route for buses
Nasty road that, stupid place to put a pedestrian crossing too just after a roundabout.
Hope the guys ok.
I saw that yesterday wondered what was going on all those police cars hope the guy is ok
that happened to my son a few years ago there he ended up with a broken leg
Awful road that, when you come off the roundabout .... Someone ran out on me just there as I was driving round..
