A WIRRAL woman was taken to hospital after she was hit by a lorry yesterday afternoon.

The incident happened just after 3pm on Pasture Road, Moreton.

Police say it is thought the woman, who is in her early-40s, stepped off the pavement in front of the vehicle.

She was taken by ambulance to Arrowe Park Hospital although her injuries were not life-threatening.

The junction between Hoylake and Pasture Road was closed by police but re-opened at around 4.30pm.

A police spokesman said no action is to be taken against the lorry driver.
